A Quick Guide to Navigating your Pixieset Gallery

**Side note- there is also a video walkthrough of this blog in case you need a visual walkthrough too! It can be viewed here!

Your photo gallery is designed to make viewing, sharing, and preserving your images simple and enjoyable. Whether you’re reliving your wedding day, engagement session, or family photos, this quick guide will walk you through everything you need to know about using your gallery. This blog is centered on each feature of your gallery and how to make the best use of it, and how to download your images.

Before we begin, I have a few major FAQ's to cover that I get a lot from couples and clients navigating their gallery for the first time.

  1. What is better- Utilizing my gallery on my phone or computer?

    1. Computer 100%. You get the most out of your gallery and its features on your computer and, in my opinion it is much easier to view it on a computer than your phone. But, if you wanted to quickly share your gallery via text or otherwise, than your phone is fine for that. NOTE: for the sake of this entire tutorial I am using my computer.

  2. Your Watermark is in the way! Does it go away or is that extra?"

    1. Yes! Upon downloading your gallery or images of choice, my watermark goes away, no extra charged required.

  3. Is my Gallery Password Protected?

    1. Yes! At the bottom of your gallery that comes with your gallery link, there is a four-digit code attached to your gallery that you, anyone you send that code to who wants to download photos, and myself has it. Thus, nobody will be able to download your photos unless they have that code.

  1. Gallery Layout

Your gallery is designed to make viewing your photos simple and enjoyable. When you open your gallery, you’ll see your images organized in a clean, easy-to-scroll layout so you can relive the moments from your session or wedding naturally from beginning to end.

Once you receive your gallery from me, it's exciting to want to jump in right away. But, what you might not be aware of is the amazing features your gallery offers to make the most of your experience as a client. Every client gallery is divided into various categories: and look a little something like this:

Weddings are sectioned off by the main parts of the day/ event. This makes it easy to find all the big moments in their respective places.

All Non-Wedding galleries are sectioned off into two major parts. The major component being "Highlights" where all your photographs are located in color.

All galleries have a separate section labeled "B+W" where all photos from your wedding day categories or "Highlights" can be found duplicated in black and white. I produce all galleries in both color and all black and white because I believe it makes the most of the client experience by giving you the most variety possible!

  1. Icons + Features

Your gallery also includes several helpful icons and features designed to make selecting, organizing, and downloading your photos easy. These tools allow you to favorite images, download files, and access additional options directly from your gallery with just a few clicks.

These are the primary icons that live in the top right corner of your gallery.

  1. The 🩶 is the favoriting feature. This feature is unique and serves a few awesome purposes.

    1. When you click on it, you will be prompted to enter your email- it's just so I know who's logging into your gallery and who's favorites folders belong to who. It also helps me if and when you plan on buying an album or other print products from me too!

    2. After signing in you'll see a plus sign that says "Create New Favorites List" or, you can select the "➕" in the top right corner.

    3. You can name your favorites list and a description if you choose, or just list it as "M y Favorites" or whatever else you'd like!

    4. When navigating your gallery you'll see the little 🩶 appear on the gallery page or when sifting through photos individually.

    5. When you select the 🩶it will automatically add to the favorite's list you created OR will prompt you to add it to a list if you've created more than one list using your email.

    6. Anyone you share your gallery link with who logins in with their email will have the ability to do the same thing.

  1. The ➡️ is the sharing feature. This gives you the ability to share you gallery with your families and loved ones. It can also be copied and shared to any of the following locations:

    1. Messager- so you can quickly send your photos to your loved ones using Facebook Messager.

    2. What's App- for those of you who use that app to communicate with your favorite people.

    3. Facebook- If you choose to share your entire gallery on Facebook instead of just your favorites.

    4. Email- If you want to email your gallery link directly to anyone. (let's be real though, who's doing that these days?)

    5. Twitter- (Yes I still call it Twitter) If you want to to tweet about your session and share your gallery.

    6. Pinterest- to share inspo from your session with others, I also need to get better at doing that for the business,

    7. iMessage- to quickly text your gallery to all the important people via text message.

  1. The ▶️ is the slideshow feature. This use of your gallery is fun if you and your loved ones want to curl up on the couch with a chilled glass of wine and relive your moments in slideshow style.

  1. Last but, not least the ⬇️download feature. This feature is the most-used feature that couples and clients use- for obvious reasons. Below you're going to learn all about the downloading process and how to make the best use of your images beyond the gallery setting.

  1. The Downloading Process

Downloading your photos is quick and simple. Your gallery allows you to download your entire collection at once or select individual images. When downloading, you may notice different file size options — each designed for specific uses such as printing or sharing online.

  1. When you are ready to download, you will be prompted to enter your email (preferably the same one you've been using for this process.)

    1. Then, in the second box you'll enter your four-digit code that is attached to your gallery.

  2. On the next screen you'll be given the following options to download your photos

    1. If you use the 🩶feature and select the download icon, you'll be prompted to download your favorites galleries ONLY.

    2. If you select the ⬇️download feature from your gallery without having a favorites gallery OR if you just want to download all of your photos at once, then this is where you'll want to be!

  1. Regardless of which option you choose to download your photos (all or only your favorites) you'll see a few things on this menu and what each selection means.

    1. Download Size: In simplest terms, how much "data" (storage space) you are transferring from the internet to your device.

      1. Hi-Resolution: Best for printing albums, framed prints, and canvases

      2. Web Size: Best for social media

****Hi-res files are perfect for anything printed. Web-size files are optimized for posting online so platforms don’t overly compress them.

(For single image downloads, hi-res is the default — totally fine to use!)

    2. Download To: You have the option to download your photos to a few different places

      1. Save to My Device: this is the most common option. It will either download to your phone or computer based on which device you are downloading your gallery from.

      2. Google Photos

      3. DropBox

    3. Photos are downloaded in a zip file and can be opened simply by clicking on them and you'll also get an email notification with your gallery downloads folder as well!\
