If there’s one thing I love just as much as photographing couples, it’s helping them find locations that feel right for their story.
A Client-friendly note to all who visit: If you’re feeling overwhelmed by options, don’t worry—that’s completely normal. Most couples don’t have a location picked when they book. I’ll help you narrow this list based on your vision, outfits, season, and how you want your photos to feel. Think of this post as inspiration, not homework. Northeast Ohio is full of variety—waterfront views, hidden gardens, historic architecture, cozy nature pockets, and vibrant city scenes. Whether you’re planning an engagement session, anniversary photos, or just want images that feel true to you, these are some of my absolute favorite places to photograph.
This list is especially helpful if you’re not sure where to start or you want your session to feel personal, meaningful, and visually timeless.
Voinovich Bicentennial Park
Voinovich Park is one of my go-to spots for couples who want iconic Cleveland views without feeling too busy. Located right on Lake Erie, it offers clean skyline views, lakefront paths, and open green space. It’s perfect for sunset sessions, candid walking shots, and couples who love a mix of nature and city.
Best for: Skyline lovers, sunrise sessions, relaxed waterfront vibes
Cleveland Cultural Gardens
The Cultural Gardens are a hidden gem for romantic, editorial-style sessions. Each garden offers something unique—from stone staircases to archways and lush greenery. It feels intimate and timeless, especially in spring, summer, and early fall.
Best for: Romantic portraits, quiet moments, European-inspired scenery
David Fortier Park
This park is ideal for couples who want something natural and low-key. With open fields, tree-lined paths, and seasonal color changes, it photographs beautifully year-round.
Best for: Natural light sessions, cozy and understated imagery
Rockefeller Park Greenhouse
One of my favorite locations for year-round sessions, especially in winter. The greenhouse offers beautiful natural light, tropical plants, and a calm atmosphere that makes sessions feel warm and intimate no matter the season.
Best for: Winter sessions, greenery lovers, romantic indoor photos
Cuyahoga Valley National Park
For couples who love adventure, this location is unbeatable. Trails, rolling hills, wooded paths, and river views make every session feel like a mini escape. It’s stunning in every season, especially fall.
Best for: Adventurous couples, nature lovers, fall color
Himelright Lodge
This location feels cozy, nostalgic, and storybook-like. Surrounded by nature and rustic textures, it’s perfect for couples who want something intimate and unique.
Best for: Story-driven sessions, rustic vibes, quiet surroundings
Cleveland Museum of Art & Wade Oval
This is a classic for a reason. The architecture, symmetry, and open spaces give sessions an elegant, editorial feel. Wade Oval adds seasonal greenery and openness, making it incredibly versatile.
Best for: Timeless elegance, editorial portraits, formal or chic sessions
Cleveland Metroparks
The Metroparks offer endless variety—from wooded trails to open meadows and water features. Each park has its own personality, which allows us to tailor the session to your vibe.
Best for: Versatile sessions, natural backdrops, all seasons
Downtown Cleveland
Downtown sessions are bold, modern, and full of energy. Brick walls, city streets, architecture, and hidden alleyways create dynamic imagery with an urban edge.
Best for: Historic charm, editorial looks, city energy
The Flats
The Flats combine industrial textures with waterfront views. It’s perfect for couples who want something trendy but still romantic, especially during golden hour or early evening.
Best for: Urban romance, modern storytelling, sunset light
Edgewater Beach & Park
Edgewater is a Cleveland favorite for a reason. Lake Erie views, sandy paths, tall grasses, and dramatic sunsets make it ideal for laid-back, emotional sessions.
Best for: Beach vibes, sunset/sunrise sessions, candid moments
Huntington Beach
Huntington Beach offers a more peaceful, intimate alternative to Edgewater. The natural dunes, shoreline, and softer crowds make it perfect for relaxed, romantic photos.
Best for: Intimate sessions, natural movement, serene atmosphere
Geneva-on-the-Lake
This location feels like a nostalgic getaway. With lake views, boardwalk energy, and a vintage charm, it’s ideal for couples who want something playful and different.
Best for: Destination-style sessions, playful storytelling, summer vibes
Kirtland Temple
For couples who appreciate history and architecture, Kirtland Temple offers a meaningful and serene backdrop. Its simplicity and structure allow the focus to stay on connection and emotion.
Best for: Historic settings, meaningful locations, timeless imagery
