As we settle into the new year, I can’t help but look back on one of my favorite engagement sessions from late fall—just before the first snow blanketed Columbus. There’s a special kind of magic in those last golden days of autumn: the air is crisp, the colors are warm and muted, and everything feels calm yet full of life.

Before you dive headfirst into planning spreadsheets and Pinterest boards, take a moment to simply enjoy being engaged. This season is short, sweet, and incredibly meaningful. That said, once the excitement settles, most couples find themselves asking the same question:“Okay… now what?”

Cleveland has no shortage of charming, intimate spaces. From historic bookshops to neighborhood cafés, the city offers endless opportunities for sessions that feel warm, romantic, and personal. For couples who want their photos to feel like a memory rather than a production, Cleveland provides the perfect backdrop.

Shooting in a city for the first time always brings a fresh perspective. I found myself slowing down—paying closer attention to light, textures, and natural framing. Duluth encouraged a more intentional approach, one that blends adventure with intimacy.
