My Favorite Wedding Portraits | A Cleveland Wedding Photographer’s Go-To Moments

Wedding portraits are so much more than a checklist item on your timeline—they're often the images that couples return to time and time again. One of my favorite parts of portrait time is slowing everything down. Wedding days can fly by, and these moments give couples a chance to step away from the excitement, soak it all in, and simply enjoy being newly married together. I also love making the most of whatever environment we're in. Whether it's a garden in full bloom, the architecture of your venue, a quiet forest path, or the shoreline at sunset, I use the location to help tell your story. Every wedding is different, and your portraits should reflect that.

1. Bouquet Moments – Your flowers deserve their moment! I love incorporating your bouquet into portraits, whether it's highlighting the beautiful details or creating romantic, editorial-inspired images. It really brings everything together.

2. A Veil Moment – If you're wearing a veil, we're using it! Wind, movement, or simply letting it frame the two of you creates some of the dreamiest photographs. If it's a long veil- we're also going to use that to our advantage!

3. Creative Angles – I love looking for unique perspectives that highlight your venue, landscape, or architecture while keeping the focus on your connection. And yes, I will lay on the ground if the vision calls for it!

4. Movement– Walking together, spinning, dancing, or simply wandering hand in hand creates natural interactions that never feel forced.

5. Lots of Kisses – Forehead kisses, cheek kisses, dip kisses, all of them. They're simple, genuine, and always photograph beautifully.

6. The In-Between Moments – Holding hands, taking a deep breath together, or sharing a laugh when you think no one's watching often become the photos couples treasure the most.

7. Making the Most of the Venue/ Location- One of my favorite parts of portrait time is finding ways to incorporate your surroundings. Whether it's stunning architecture, a winding garden path, towering trees, waterfront views, or the unique details of your venue, I love using the environment to add depth, variety, and personality to your gallery. Every location has something special to offer, and I enjoy getting creative to make your portraits feel one-of-a-kind.
