Cole + Sammie’s Vintage-Inspired Hale Farm & Village Wedding

Rain on your wedding day? Cole and Sammie said no problem.

Their June wedding at Hale Farm & Village in Bath, Ohio started with a little Northeast Ohio rain, but the skies cleared just in time for us to explore the grounds—and what followed was the sweetest mix of vintage elegance, sentimental details, historic charm, and one VERY good dance floor.

I had photographed a wedding at Hale Farm once before, so getting the chance to come back again was incredible. There’s something so fun about returning to a venue already knowing some of its best little corners while still getting to see it completely differently through another couple’s wedding day.

And Cole and Sammie gave me plenty to work with.

A Romantic First Look + Private Vows + A Historic Hale Farm Ceremony

Hale Farm’s historic Meetinghouse played host to some of the most meaningful moments of Cole and Sammie’s entire wedding day.

Before heading down the aisle, they shared a romantic first look and private vows inside the same space where they would soon say “I do.” It gave them a few quiet minutes together to see each other, exchange their words privately, and soak in the fact that they were actually about to get married.

Then, not long after, that same little historic chapel filled with their favorite people for their ceremony.

There’s something extra special about watching one space hold so many different parts of a wedding story

from those quiet moments alone to officially becoming husband and wife.

Vintage Details With a Story

One of my favorite things about Sammie’s wedding vision was how personal it was.

She thrifted her wedding dress and spent so much time searching for unique vintage pieces to incorporate throughout the day—including their vintage card box. Rather than simply choosing a “vintage” aesthetic, Sammie collected pieces that actually had character and a story behind them.

And those are exactly the kinds of details I love preserving.

Exploring Hale Farm & Village — With a Few Furry Friends

Once the rain cleared, we got to wander all over the Hale Farm & Village grounds for portraits.

Historic buildings, greenery, fields, fences...and then there were the COWS. My favorite. Obviously.

Romantic wedding portraits and cows? 10/10 wedding day. No notes.

And Then... They Partied

After all the romance and vintage elegance, Cole and Sammie’s reception turned into one giant dance party. The dance floor was packed, everyone was fully committed, and by that point in the night, nobody cared about the camera—which is exactly when some of my favorite candid wedding photographs happen.
