Stephen and Gabby’s engagement session at the Wisconsin State Capitol felt like stepping right into a classic love story.
From the moment we started, there was such an easy connection between them—nothing forced, nothing overly posed, just the kind of natural comfort that makes photographing couples like this so meaningful.
The Capitol building gave us the perfect backdrop with its timeless architecture, grand steps, and soft, romantic light that shifted beautifully throughout the session.
We spent time wandering the grounds, letting them settle into each moment together—quiet in-between glances, laughter that came naturally, and those subtle moments where they forgot the camera was even there. Those are always my favorite to capture.
What made this session even more special is the timing—it took place just one week before their intimate micro wedding in Virginia. There’s something really emotional about documenting a couple right before they officially step into marriage, knowing how close they are to that next chapter.
Stephen and Gabby, it was such an honor to document this season for you both. I cannot wait for your wedding day.
